12/11 Meeting Reviews

Ok. After listening to the audio this is what I have to say.

Concise Thoughts
#1. The term "Radikal" is mentioned heavily - thank you.
#2. Who's the Brit senator? Like what he had to say.
#3. Eric Conrad - sounds like a whiner.
#4. Gillespy - not much better than Conrad; awesome photo though.
#5. Dictor - uses profanity far too much for an SBP candidate.
#6. Hargrove - sounds like a more assertive, funnier Phil Harden.
#7. "Adriana" - whiner. novice w/ no patience. Stay home next time.
#8. Someone asks if he can clap for JN, SM says clap - all clap.
#9. Hargrove concludes, no one claps.
#10: Can anyone say "Simon Says?"
#11: SM fumbles O&B/Pres results for Shotgun S>SBP nomination.
#12: The Officials openly berate BD, "decide!" "yes or no!"
#13: Party Pres. results announced. DH upsets JN
#14: The Officials no longer yelling; SM hasty adjournment.
#15: The Geico celebrity didn't even ask a question, how lame.
#16: Nice to see Frank on party business, even b4 elected MAL.
#17: Frank said he'd walk away if unexp. candidates chosen.
#18: If Ben said walk - 3rd Party Threat. Why not Frank?
#19: Double Standard?
#20: We talked about Party Pres. for almost two hours.
#21: You have ten seconds to decide if you want to run for SBP
#22: "Oh come on, Dictor!" Yea Dictor, decide, I mean the whaling.
#23: You'd think these Officials were trying to get out of Darfur
#24: On the last Red Cross helicopter.
#25: C'mon Dictor, decide!
#26: Decide!
#27: Do It!
#28: Now!
#29: Oh Donte won. Bummer. Meeting Adjourned.

Article IV - what GDI Playbook did they ever get this from? Seniority doesn't even speak to this issue, as we're not dealing with the elder members of O&B but members from older parties all together. People are being rewarded with power in a party going into 2009 for work they did in 2007? What if these folks went on to grad school? Will they have voting rights until 2012?

One young lady, undeniably an Official, stated in her own words, that what is needed is "INSTITUTIONAL KNOWLEDGE". Now I don't know about you, but that speaks 100%, nail-on-the-head Radikal definition of "The Officials" - the institutional body of the Orange & Blue Party. [Takes a Bow, then Waves]

Duque, I didn't know you thought of yourself as a woman. You really are an indie!

Who got rewarded for not working for Orange and Blue? I didn't get there until 30 minutes or so before the meeting ended; from the version I heard the people that worked the campaign were the ones elected that day.

Still waiting to do the recording. You have time to listen to a 4 hour meeting, but not set aside 20 minutes for me :tear:.

Ah Mr. Duque, you fail to understand. It's really not your fault, seeing as you are not at UF anymore and don't really know every little detail, but those who have fed you information are failing to see what is right in front of them.

The vote was conducted by "anonymous" ballots. So nobody "knows" how everyone voted, but one can make reasonable assumptions. The vote was 10-7 for Donte. There were 18 voters.
Of those, "the officials":

Sam Miorelli
Ben Cavataro
Mark Mcshera himself
Liz Stinson
Kyle Huey
(plus some other nonvoting people like Josh and Cain)

So there were five voting officials. If you listened to the audio (as you apparently did), you also know that several other voters (Gray, Fyda, Yanuck, and Baker) seemed to be at least sympathetic to these "officials". Yet only seven people voted for Josh, and somebody didn't vote at all. Either the officials really are a tiny minority in the Orange and Blue Party, or they themselves were divided on who to support.

Anybody know who didn't vote?

I'm not anti-Official or Pro-Prog, but I do want people to understand that my distinctions hold water factually and are accurate.

I know Yanuck voted for Donte. He came right over to us and told us so, so I don't think it is a big secret or anything.

Donte was a great candidate and this no one voted in blocks, now if the progs would only work with the party president that they supported we could put this all behind us

Wait, after all the bitching about who gets to vote, somebody didn't? WTF?

Ben Dictor needs to graduate and get lost. This guy is going to pull his britches down and take a mean CRAP on everything we've fought hard for.

Mark voted for Donte and Huey didn't vote.

When Alan went over to Dictor to explain why he voted for Donte and ask him about Grasshopper, Dictor to him something like he didn't give a fuck and to shove it up his ass. He then proceded to tell a member or two of O&B to go join Gator Party. Just putting to the facts out there like Duque.
