Congratulations O&B!!!

It's hard to believe, but O&B secured just one seat shy of the Access Party of 2004 and they did this all on their own GDI dime. Sam Miorelli has been re-elected and a fresh new crop of SG'ers are on their way in. I've only been saying this for months now, but Gator is on the way out. They can change the name to Swamp, Innovate or Ignite but that won't change things.

I hope that Kellie Dale & Marygrace Bell get dealt with by Patricia Telles-Irvin just like Reilly. I think being called to her office sends a very, very strong message. NO CALENDARS FOR YOU THIS YEAR!

So anyway, congratulations to Orange & Blue! Look to 'Ken Is Speaking' for a better morning-after post -- I have a cold.

Sam wasn't "re-elected". This is his first win. He was a summer replacement.

For my thoughts on the news, particularly in how it compares historically:

Of course, I'd have more informed analysis if/when I get details on the vote totals. (Someone from UF - either side - feel free to email me!)

Nitpicking. Sam is back in chambers. :)

This is a war and that last nights results were just one battle one. Now the next battle begins tonight at 9:00pm in the Honor Court Chambers for the Elections Commission hearing. The Gator party will try to DQ all the off-campus O&B candidates over allegations they were canvassing. John Dicks, the chair, is an FBK stalwart and a smart cookie. Miorelli and his co-counsel will need to be on their A-games to fight this one off but from my interaction with him and those who will be flanking him at the table (my money is on Cain Norris and Joe Trimboli if yesterday's EC meeting was any indication) it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

One thing the O&B Party (read: GDI party) always has going for it is an overabundance (not that that is a bad thing) of brain talent. They are always the smartest ones in the room.

Personally, I feel the best part of the EC meetings is seeing the fat, sleazy, wannabe ambulance chasing lawyers FBK trots out. They feel because they know torts that somehow their ability to argue and reason will dwarf the GDI's.

It never works out that way.

It's not really nitpicking when he ran in engineering and the people he knows best resoundingly said "we don't want you". Just look at the people they've chosen over him in engineering... his own party, other party and a person with NO party. Just to give you the perspective of what the people who actually know him think.

No more Naadira, no more Jimmy.

I'm not nitpicking, it's what happened. You were definitely misrepresenting the facts as if Sam was elected before. False.

If anything it was innocent misrepresentation...perhaps negligent...but certainly not intentional as you're trying to imply.

This is the time for nitpicking --- when sore Gators, whine. Did I say Gators? I meant losers. :)

John Dicks is cool and I feel this Election Commission is a step above the commission that was in place during Pants. I do not see any DQs happening. Based on the amount of complaints against Gator, it would be a nightmare for the Election Commission to disqualify ANY O&B candidates but not disqualify a good amount of Gator candidates.

Uh, Anon 1:30, Sam only lost EG by two votes this time around. I don't think that means that they don't want him.

Get over the fact that you lost seats in an election and that the guy you hate gets to spend a year in chambers with you.

Yeah looking at the Gator Party's lawyers yesterday, I'm not too worried.

Duque. Do you like the fact that most people hate you?

Do you care so much about UF SG because you have no friends at your school?

Duke, you're an idiot. Gator was never in danger of losing out to O&B, they had Phi Tau after all.

this is stupid and so is the writer. Get lives and talk to people face to face instead of hiding behind a screen. And dear author, although it would be nice to believe you care...you are just living to start drama. Grow up and move in.

Once again

"IT'S GREAT TO VOTE THE GATOR PARTY!"

"Had Phi Tau after all" none of you know what the fuck you are talking about. If you are not on exec their chapter you never will. You are both idiots.

Anon 6:50... the repeated Phi Tau comments are obviously a joke.
