RadiKaL Updates

Two former Senators & Voice Party leaders, James Argento & Nick Capezza, have agreed to come together for a limited time, to give a unified opinion on a topic of my choice for the month of June. For the month of July we'll select a topic question from the blog-audience and for August we'll have something special planned -- we hope. A&C will prove to be one of the most insightful columns ever to appear on this blog. August will also mark the Second Anniversary of TheRadikal.

Not Ready For My Close-Up, Just Yet
I was touched to have been asked for a Q&A, but found myself compelled to politely decline. TR still has a long way to go before we can officially call it quits on regular-blogging. This blog will always blog about SG, there will be no end in sight. However, the blog will cease to cover on a regular basis and past 2007 I don't think I will have the time or interest to keep following the scene, as I'll be in law school somewhere, anywhere, lol.

This having been said, there is a lot more to cover in SG than has been recorded by Gatorpedia...TR isn't going to a WIkipedia spinoff, system or GDI, this blog has been around far too long, it's left Swamp PUndette, Reitz Rambler, Gatorman, I could name blogs all day and night, and we've blown all of them away -- where are they now? Yes, the authors are in D.C. or working jobs, well I'm in Gainesville and working jobs too, they just DRIED UP, they proved that SG was only useful while they were using it. Today, the Gavin Bakers, the Ryan Nelsons, the Jordan Lohs, the Sam Greens, when they needed TR they were some of the most regular contributors, but now out of office or off their SG thrones, the blog gets about as much priority as XXX Spam mail and Get Rich Quick emails from that no-money-down lunatic from the infomercials. But with them or without them, TheRadikal has continued on, getting bigger, more accepted, and more feared each year after.

Anyway, I don't think we need an interview to show the readers that two blogs are in fact on the same page. Let me boldly say that I support the SG Observer. I have been very public about that since they came on the scene. I do have issues with the fact that on TR I bear no secrets, my readers know who I am, they love me or mock me, but they don't just know my name, they know how I think, when my life sucks, when my life rules, and so on. 99.9% of my readers have never met me in ./person, but they know me on a certain level by reading this blog and I think that says something.

On the other hand, the SG Observer is very Andrew Sledd'ish, their senate coverage is second to none (though undeniably SP-inspired) and I like the fact they used my idea of interviewing SG'ers to raise their numbers and quality. They never officially credited me or gave me props for the idea, they just kind of took it, but there's no harm in that. On the other hand they do put TR on their RSS feed which is nice. But most importantly and all minor dealings aside, they are a great blog and I will do an interview with them towards the end of the year, but I will not do it via the net, I will want to sit down with someone and have it recorded (I'll bring my own device to have a copy).

I've got to get to bed. Goodnight.

a warning:
http://blogs.wsj.com/law/2007/06/12/students-file-suit-against-autoadmit-director-others/

n the latest chapter of the AutoAdmit.com scandal, two female Yale Law School students have sued Anthony Ciolli, the Web site’s former “chief educational director,” and more than two dozen others who allegedly used pseudonyms and posted the students’ photos as well as defamatory and threatening remarks about them on the online law-school discussion forum. Here’s a copy of the complaint, as well as previous Law Blog posts (here, here and here) on the AutoAdmit controversy.

The law students aren’t named in the suit — filed yesterday in U.S. District Court in Connecticut — which claims the defendants violated copyright infringement by posting photos of one of the women without her permission, falsely posing as the women in posts on the site, and engaging in “unreasonable publicity given to another’s life; publicity that places another in a false light before the public; intentional infliction of emotional distress; negligent infliction of emotional distress; and defamation.”

The complaint asks for judgment against the defendants for unspecified damages as well as punitive damages in the amount of $245,400. Besides Ciolli, named defendants include individuals with pseudonyms such as “Pauliewalnuts” and “The Ayatollah of Rock-n-Rollah.”

Complaints are bullshit until a judge agrees with them. How much you wanna bet it gets thrown out on summary judgement?

If the pics are posted on facebook or myspace I don't think there is an expectation of privacy. If the pics are off some private website then there may be possible false light and invasion of privacy issues.

There really is no such thing as a "private" website. If it violates copyright laws that's one thing... but there is no expectation of privacy when you put something in the internet.

10:38: Damn it, I told you to ask Marc about it.

It was filed in federal court so the only thing they can really claim is copyright infringement. The rest of the claims will only be decided if some lawyer refiles in state court.

What is this nonsense?

Christian,

I know Andrew Sledd, and you sir are no Andrew Sledd.

Sledd was funny. Sledd was an FU to the system while completely not caring about it.

Sledd(s) angered SG so much that they threatened the Alligator with lawsuits. So sir, you are no Andrew Sledd.

As for the other blogs. Yes, you left them in the dust in terms of length, but not quality. They offered opinions on the problems of SG and the solutions, while you offer only more hate. Sir, you have a long way to go to get to that status.

I also laugh at the idea that now that you will be having a job that has large time committments, it is ok for you to stop, but the others, once they had time committments it was not. Typical

Not sure why you think 10:54 Anon is Josh, but it's not.
