Comments & Videotape

With the campaign & elections over, it's rather silly to deny the fact that there was in fact a Battle for the Independent community, that PANTS effectively took on the Machine, and that many of the key leaders of the Independent community of 2006 disappeared only a few days into 2007. And who would have thought that the Alligator would endorse the FBK-backed party?

Over 70 Grapski Videos!!!

Once again the elections may be over, but hearings are set and tensions remain tense. What's goin on? Your comments:

Lacey is a really good girl Christian. You're way out of line. What about you handing out I Voted Stickers even after the EC reccomended disqualification. If anybody didn't have any respect for the process it was Pants. Bruce even said in the paper he hoped he got DQ'ed for the media attention. Lay off of Lacey it's really inappropriate to call people names, especially young ladies. Why don't you try and be a gentleman for once?!

Christian Duque said...

What names did I call her? None. I saw her violate the 50ft line at least four dozen times meanwhile I respected the line. It was both annoying and illegal. If SW Rec serves as any indicator of how Gator won this election, they should be ashamed of themselves.

Anonymous said...

Not that there is any way to settle this argument, but Duque, I WATCHED you cross that 50 foot line many times. Just because you stopped when Moseley and Bruce got there doesn't mean shit.

And don't try to pretend like you aren't being completely vulgar and defamatory towards Lacey, Moseley, and Christian.

By the way, I'm SURE that (if she existed) the girl you are meeting with at 3 in the morning is a classy lady.

Actually when I was out campaigning two girls did walk two guys up to the polling location, at least into the door and into the building, which is within about 45ft and I know they still kept escorting them. I would have tried to get a picture but I was the only one out in my area at that late and the Gator Party guys would have taken pictures of me leaving campaign material unattended. At least the Gator Party middle-management that was out there did talk to them afterwards (I won't mention the middle-management's name but I did like what they did).

I'm just stating an opinion and attaching some humor to it. I am not tactless and I am not a "homophobe." If you knew me other than on this blog here, you'd know I wasn't a homophobe at all in fact.

I didn't like the way she campaigned, I thought it was blatantly illegal and this is MY blog and I'm stating MY OPINION.

I'm sorry you've been bitter since the moment Nina vaguely mentioned how you tried to get into KKG and didn't make the cut, I'm sorry you wanted to be Greek but just weren't cool enough; we edited that section to spare you any grief, but seriously, who needs to move on?

Me for writing a blog about my past or you for taking the time out of your busy D.C. schedule to read every post, comment on most of the threads, and then announce your farewell amidst insults & drama?

Yeah..I'll "grow up."

p.s.
I could care less if you return or not.

Who is the Gator Party middle management?

Anonymous said...

Stop. Stop mentioning Lacey. She does not exist to you. You have no right to talk about her, good or bad, and you have no right to dirty her name on this blog. I don't care if it's YOUR blog or not; it's HER name, and you have never even taken a moment to try and speak with her.

She is a PERSON. This is something that everyone we campaign to forgets. People who come at you at SW and Reitz and Turlington are people too, and it is possible to hurt their feelings when they're told to fuck off for trying to share information that they believe is truly important and will help people.

As a campaigner, I would have thought that you remembered those times when people insulted you just for trying to reach out and get them involved in the election process.

Why do you insist on trying to hurt people you have never even met? You spent hours with Lacey and never even approached her to have any sort of conversation with her.

And this is the way you treat everyone. Until they come begging you to let them speak on your blog, or until you decide they warrant space to formally express their opinions here, they aren't people to you. They're punching bags, to let out whatever pent-up aggression and anger you feel onto them. You will attack their appearances, their motivations and their general reputation with impunity.

So stop talking about Lacey. You don't know her. Stop talking about Ben Grove, Kim Cruts, Christian, or anyone else whose name you've randomly heard and who you decide is a target. Until you take the time to meet them, at least introduce yourself, you have no right to spread your horrible assumptions about them all over the internet.

lawls. 1;14 is cutesies. if your campaigning and putting yourself out there, then your asking for people to criticize yourself. thats the way it is in america.

Christian Duque said...

I was there. Alone! 3hrs on Tuesday; 6hrs on Wednesday. I saw this with my own two eyes, not even with 7 of them against me ALONE could they follow campaign rules. I was furious at that, it's not fair and it's illegal. I told them repeatedly to please stop AND this long after we stopped handing out stickers.

They violated basic campaign rules and after hearing her bark lame orders to her underlings ("ok you go there, you go here, you're the one minute speech guy, you talk to the ones that won't budge, you over here, you over there [mind you there was no one out there, 3 goofy gator guys, and me chugging water]) and continuously reiterating she was area leader, I came to expect she'd lead by example. All of them on those two days violated campaign rules.

If I wanted to be malicious I'd make stuff up, but I was there and I'm writing only in the context of what I know to be true, something I have always done on this blog. I have always given people fair and equal space to refute anything I say, but Gator won dirty even with all their support and all their money and unlike others that make broad accusations, I put names to the faces and details to the deeds.

:)

Won dirty? Which party is disqualified?

Anonymous said...

The fact of the matter is lots of people on both sides at SW rec were violating the 50 foot line. You're right I did see Lacy do it, but I also saw you do it. If it was really a big deal that swung the election one way or another get out a camera and take a picture and see of the EC agrees with you (I'm sure they wouldn't, and would issue a warning or $2 fine). So what does it matter?

Frankly, to be calling any tactic used or not-used by the Gator party a violation of campaign rules is ridiculous in light of the entire "I voted" sticker debacle. You know Pants could be disqualified for just violating the cease and desist order even if the stickers were determined to be non-campaign material.

Gator won running one of the cleanest campaigns I've EVER seen on this campus. We ran a very positive message oriented campaign. If one or two people violated an election code by stepping inside the 50 ft line well that is a violation, and someone should have brough it up with the EC; however, its not a huge deal. Violations happen in every campaign all you have to do is look back at Unite/Swamp and every other race to see they go both ways and usually end up meaning nothing. Pants was guilty of far more negative and dirty campaigning.

I don't know if anyone who wears a shirt like the one you have on in the video, has a poster of Arnold on his wall, and has a profile pic up posing with an assault rifle can really call someone else trashy and be taken seriously.

All your campaigning really paid off dinnit.

I really question posting on here at all. You love the attention and it makes you feel important and still involved. I can say very truthfully that there are less than 5 people who will give you the time
of day in SG. You don't matter and you're an annoyance. That said, I feel okay taking the time to get this across:

The 1:14 poster has it dead right. Lacey works harder than most people I've seen. If you take a look from the back of the senate room, she's not on her laptop looking at facebook or watching lectures, she's reading bills, giving reports, and being a great Senator. I've voted for her two times because of this. She's also not just a Senator. She spends a good amount of her free-time doing good things for this univeristy. She's a classy, great girl. Aside from that, no one ever deserves the kind of scrutiny you place on them. You little snark to Ally was uncalled for and was meant to hurt her feelings. I wish you were a good enough person to see that and apologize.

I watched your videos and I watched you campaign. Nearly everything coming from your mouth is a lie, be it on screen or in front of the gym. Gator volunteers followed the strict rule of not speaking badly about Pants (and I challenge you to find a single person who did). You didn't hold yourself to those standards. Just as much, in the videos you made up incidents (following people into their cars) or twisted events (pictures were only taken of you giving out "I voted" stickers, as required for the EC complaint to hold any water).

You can keep making your videos and writing your trash because that's all you have left. But, you're not getting any respect and you hurt the credibility of the people you claim to support. I just feel bad for the poor (mostly girls) who get caught in your cross-hairs. The difference between them and you is that they have class.

Someday, maybe when you're older and have someone that you care about will you reconsider the disgusting comments that you have made about these people that just want to do public service.

Anyone else find it interesting how Duque is a part-time high school substitute teacher while Lacey will end up a highly paid, successful lawyer, graduating from a big name law school?

Honestly, I always picture Christian as that creepy old man who just sits alone in front of his computer at night looking at tranny porn into the early morning hours, occaisionaly posting on a blog to make himself feel better.

Anonymous said...

Well actuall those was one Gator Party volunteer that was telling people that Pants supported minus grades...but perhaps that was an isolated case?

It is so hard to keep those pledges that are "recommended" to help in line, no?

Anonymous said...

Where's the proof? I can make up that Pants threw rocks at children as well... doesn't mean it happened.

Pants did a lot of things wrong in this election, but the only ones we bring up are the ones with documentation - of which there are many.

So prove it, give me a name, a name of who he said it too... anything. But to just come on here and sling mud is pretty characteristic of a Pants party supporter.

Anonymous said...

The only thing that stands between Lacey and her "big name law school" is the logic sections on the LSAT and her GPA.

Anonymous said...

1:14 here-

Christian, I don't care if you present the facts. I appreciate it. What I don't appreciate is comments like, "that nose was the only thing stopping her from hitting the door."

It's not necessary to be malicious.

Actually the person was a young Asian girl that likely didn't know any better out in Turlington on Monday. What would be the point in asking her for her name, it would be her word against mine becuase she wouldn't do it again afterwards and even if the EC ruled in favor of the Pants Party, what would it do fine Gator $20...couple less beers to buy at the afterparty wow!

Job-based potshots are fine and welcome. Like many of my friends, I earned a degree and have no idea what I want to do with it. I'm in the process of being certified, but don't even know that that's what I want to do. I'm sure many of you will make much more money than I will and I wish you the absolute best. You guys are still very young and can afford to pick a career then change it down the line, I want to be sure I go for something I truly like and will be happy at.

As far as proof. This is my blog and while I appreciate and often request outside input, my word is pretty credible currency around here. What I experienced was real enough for me, unlike others, I have confidence of ten men, I do not require others to "back me" or "stand with me" in order to recant the truth or dissent.

There is nothing wrong with her nose, it's just something that came to mind and I assure you being *malicious* was never the case. I'm angry about their dirty campaign tactics, I'm not even necessarily angry at them (I don't know them).

PANTS rumors? Sure, I do run the only SG blog on the net you know. Gator was playing dirty, real dirty. Had they run a CLEAN campaign (even still filing for their c&d order) PANTS would have easily secured an additional 5% of the vote, had they left the stickers in place and played clean, PANTS could have had 40%, had the turncoats come back...who knows.

Anonymous said...

Gator party supporters put FLC kids in a panic when they said that Pants was going to cut out FLC. Now THAT'S classy campaigning...

Anonymous said...

and let me clarify my last comment, Pants never said, nor had the intention to if election, cut FLC. This was just another lie by the Gator party to make Pants look bad.

Anonymous said...

I heard a Gator candidate explain that Pants was just a joke of a party and didn't really want to help the student body. I'd say who she was but I don't want to hurt or embarrass people.

So I guess I wasn't the only one that witnessed some "questionable" things.

Granted Pants did not follow a C&D order, it seems Gator volunteers did some pretty questionable things as well.

As far as the C&D goes, although I haven't seen what statues were listed as being broken, I still contend it was unmerited as qualified in statues 700.4(c), 700.4(d), 723.4, 724.0 (I would have to see what the person who filed the complaint cited), and 762.0.

What we also have to consider is whether there is some statutory problems within the EC. I would be interested in seeing if statue 721.1 was violated by any of the comissioners. I am also interested in knowing if the hearing accorded to statue 724.3.

It is just so interesting to say the least, I am really interested in know when the Supreme Court is going to hear this case.

I think its about time around here people started using names and actual facts and such. Its about time people started attacking the argument instead of the person (or the grammar). Its about time people started signing their names to posts. Its about time people stopped attacking people's GPA, sexuality, number of testicles, hair, friends, or anything else thats irrelevent. Its about time people on opposite sides actually spoke to each other. Its about time people started asking questions instead of just making assumptions.

Just my opinion. Flame on!

I love this:

Allison Cullin wrote

"well you wanted to be greek when you were 18, and they didn't like you" Ummm, ok high school sub who doesn't have a real job...
"Witty" comebacks from the disturbed are soooo painful. Lol.

Interesting how anon 5:43 sounds so similar to Ms. Cullin on Mr. Bowen's facebook wall at 6:54. I'm kinda wigged out that Ms. Cullin is sooo concerned with my job status. I wonder when I get certified what her gripe will be, I mean isn't her hubby a teacher also?

& you know what else...every time I see Mike Bowen around town, the guy clams up and doesn't say two words to me. Next time I see you Mike, say something. I've seen you at Walg where I used to work (guy said nothing), used to see you at Orion (you'd say nothing), next time I see you Mike try not to be such a vagina and at least muster up the courage to say "what's up."

Wow...these people talk about me on their walls, lmao I just hope they don't think about my blog during sex. Yuck.

Anyone notices how a lot of the vicious anti-pants crap died down during CPAC? So was it Josh, Ben, or Tommy?

I think it's Dr. Bowen actually.

Removed & Blocked by "ADC." Had I been her, I would have done that prior to talking trash. You know Ms. Cullin...the kiddies will still tell me what you say about me, I came from a night on the town to an email from one your closest friends pointing me in your direction.

If you have issues with my blog, you are more than welcome to have free space up alongside me to speak, you also had a blog back in the day, re-start that. I'm sure if you do and we have a blog-war, you'll easily 'win.'

As far as Mike Bowen goes, yes the man might have a PdD, but he was a slanderer back in the day and he's talking trash about people not even hiding in a blog comment area but even further down the spiral of anonymity and shamelessness -- talking trash to others on other websites, congratulating those others that have the courage to dissent in their own names.

What a chicken shit.

Truth to be told I wouldn't be reading this blog if I didn't suffer from chronic insomnia; but since I already did, here are some of my opinions:

1. Christian, don't talk crap about the ladies (Lacey, Ally, Kim, etc). Respect your good old latin upbringing and be a gentelman, leave them alone.

2. I might not be Mike's B. biggest fan, but at least I recognize the quality of the job he did while in Senate for his community. You see, he might be strongly opinionated, but at least he is not a bad person. And FYI, he doesn't tolerate me and says "Hi" whenever I torture him with a "Hey Mike!". Did you EVER make the effort and say "Hi" to him?

3. Elections are over. The Pants kid will keep his seat and will work for the interests of his people. So, move along. Go back to figuring out what is it what you want in life. I don't really know you, but I sense you have a strong political vein you must explore in other waters. So, take care of yourself and get into Law/Grad School and be happy. Perhaps that would be your way of returning to UF and actually having the right to participate in its political environment. In the meantime, stop this endless on-line dramarama (until the next election at least); it's too time consuming to read and the poli science people and I have busy lifes to run.

Anonymous said...

"3. Elections are over. The Pants kid will keep his seat and will work for the interests of his people."

Yes, because Gator party and Darren Stearn know they don't have the balls to argue with Will, and didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of proving that handing out i voted stickers is anything but legal. Which is a shame, I was looking forward to some quality entertainment and ass kicking on the part of Mr. Foster.

Anonymous said...

Too bad the complaint was dropped because the EC had already given Pants the most severe penalty possible over the illegal I Voted Stickers.

Anonymous said...

"Too bad the complaint was dropped because the EC had already given Pants the most severe penalty possible over the illegal I Voted Stickers."

Too bad the complaints weren't against the Pants campaign, or a Pants candidate. Someone needs to learn how to read 700 codes. And what was the punishment that the EC gave Mr. Foster? To my knowledge he wasn't fined a dime.

Anonymous said...

HELLO are-tard. I am talking about the complaints by JCB against Pants where the EC found the stickers were campaign material, were illegal, and reccomended Pants get DQed. Why the hell would anyone pursue a complaint against Will when the Pants Party already got the harshest penalty over the same issue? Pants got crushed, why belabor a point that has already been won?

Anonymous said...

JCB didn't file complaints against Pants you fucktard. He filed them against Will Foster. The EC just decided to apply the ruling to Will Foster even though he wasn't with pants. Since the complaints were dropped, doesn't that mean that the pants senator is still a senator?

Anonymous said...

Your are an ignorant ASSHOLE. The complaints filed on election day by JCB were against Pants as a party and no individuals were named. Will Foster had a complaint filed against him by Darren Stern. Stern dropped the complaint against Foster tonight because Pants already got the maximum penalty and there's no point of beating a dead horse, especially a dead horse that only won one seat. DUMBASS!
