To be fair, Figueroa's initial response seemed almost to match this blog's to the "t." Fernando, like TheRadikal, represents a large segment of the Indie community that wants a merger, but does not want the the Progs to lose that grassroots edge in global matters and that flare for campus activism.

The 'resistance is surrender' idea helped Progress reach out to the students and gain the 2nd highest number of total votes in Spring (after the Majority party), but it is no longer strongly emphasized in the Progress Party. To cling to old and outdated ideas alone is to cling to a failed method. Opponents to the idea should be aware of our theoretical advancements since the Spring.
Theories don't win elections, as as been proven time and time again in SG. Get real or go home.
